‘Before’ situation – the problem
EV was under pressure in our key American markets because a new competitor had entered the market and started gaining market share with an inferior product. The new competitor invested heavily in sales and marketing and their messaging was convincing within the minds of our previously-loyal customers. Our sales team didn’t feel they had enough competitive information – or confidence – to counter the claims and our traditional sales training methods (with the technical team) didn’t seem to improve things.
The solution
We asked Sara if she could help us design and deliver a new “selling against the competition” training workshop, designed specifically for EV and to directly address our recent competitor challenges. She worked with our executives, technical and operations teams to design a format that was part education (on the detailed technical superiority of our solution for customers, explaining the competitor weaknesses and lack of physical/technical resolution for such an application) and part practical application and roleplay (client meeting preparation documents, mock interviews, in-the-moment feedback). Sara facilitated the 3 days, keeping everyone on time and on topic!
